My name is Emily Tibbatts. I am French (my father is British) and I live in Lille, North of France (Nord pas de Calais / Hauts de France).
I absolutely love my district and I want to convince everybody how beautiful it is.
Nord Pas de Calais is famous for its World War I cemeteries and its old coal mines… But it has so much more to offer!
Museums like the Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille or the Louvre-Lens, generous dishes and beers in estaminets, le Carnaval de Dunkerque, Lille flea market, windmills in Cassel, fortified cities by Vauban, horse ride on the Côte d’Opale beaches or kite surfing, shopping in the Vieux Lille, the Beffroi and the Citadelle of Arras, the Opera and the Orchestre National in Lille, amusement parks all over the region and in Belgium, the workshop of glassblowers in Trélon, the modern style villa Cavrois, the port museum of Dunkerque, etc.
I hope I’ll make you want to visit the coutryside, to eat a “carbonnade flamande” and belgian frites, and to meet the friendly people of Northern France.
Trough this site, I introduce all the beauties you can visit and appreciate in Nord Pas de Calais, with city tours and itineraries, but I also explain the specific aspects of french language and promote the “culinary specialties”.
Feel free to ask me any question !
(Oh… And I’d love to develop partnership with tourism websites in Northern France and UK).
